Tobacco Board has reduced the crop size in Andhra Pradesh to 115 thousand tons, from the 135 thousand tons last season due to the reduced tobacco procurement this year, caused by the COVID-19 outbreak.

Some growers believe that the reduced crop size will hurt their interest because the production cost will remain the same causing losses in income. It is estimated that the difference will be US$ 34 million.
